District 4: Truman Boyle

      I was born and raised right here in Lamar County and have been a lifelong resident of Barnesville. I attended Gordon Military High School and later graduated from Lamar County High School in 1974 and attended Gordon State College right after. At 15, I began working at Carters Mill and worked in multiple departments for a number of years. I eventually left Carters Mill because I had received a job at General Tire and Rubber where I was working in the lab. 

      In 1978, I entered law enforcement with the Lamar County Sherriff's Office where I was a relief radio operator. In 1982 I joined Georgia State Patrol (GSP) where I would patrol the central Georgia area. Before retiring in 2013, I was assigned to the GSP Specialized Crash Reconstruction Team and Training Division where we teach basic crash investigation as well as advanced crash reconstruction classes to Troopers and other law enforcement officers in Georgia. After retiring, I joined the Lamar County Sherriff's Office as a volunteer where I get to oversee the UAS Drone Program, Weather Alert Systems , and radio communications for the department. I make sure to maintain a Peace Officer Standard and Training certification through the Georgia Public Safety Training Center Police Department as an auxiliary police officer, and also serve as an adjunct instructor in vehicle crash investigation and photography.

      I have been married to my lovely wife, Denise, for 43 years. We also have two wonderful daughters and five grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy pickleball, photography, astronomy, and I'm also active with emergency radio communications (or HAM radio). In 1998, I was elected to the board of deacons at First Baptist Church of Barnesville and I also volunteer with a wide variety of community wide events.
