Our Department
The Lamar County Probate Court exercises jurisdiction in the probate of wills, administration of estates, appointment of guardians, and the involuntary treatment of persons suffering from mental illness. This Court also administers oaths of office, marriage licenses, gun permits, and performs certain administrative duties.
Marriage Licenses or Weapon Carry Licenses
For Marriage Licenses or Weapon Carry Licenses please start the process online at:
After you have completed either application call 770-358-5155 for an appointment to finish the process
- For Marriage Licenses we need picture ID and if you have ever been married before proof of how that marriage was dissolved
- For Weapon Carry License we need a picture ID
Payment is accepted for either license in the form of Cash or Check

Probate Court handles all Traffic Citations and Misdemeanor Offenses for the County of Lamar and City of Milner. If you would like to Pay a Citation by credit card, there is an administrative fee, go to www.ezCourtPay.com to see if your citation is one that can be paid online.
